Accent Chairs
Chenille and velvet chairs.
Accent chairs in cream chenille and grey velvet, from a sculptural armchair and a chair with a hidden storage footrest to a braided velvet chair.
An accent chair gives a room a focal point and a comfortable place to pause. This small collection focuses on modern accent chairs in soft, neutral upholstery that work in a living room, bedroom, reading corner or home office.
The Willow is a curved cream chenille accent chair with sculptural, folded armrests and continuous panel sides that run from arm to floor. Its plush, padded seat and back cushions make it an easy choice for relaxing. The Lada pairs a curved open back with a clever hidden footrest that slides out from beneath the seat and opens to reveal built-in storage, ideal for a throw, books or small living room essentials. Both are upholstered in cream chenille, which adds warmth and texture to a neutral scheme.
For a slimmer piece, the Iris grey velvet chair has a braided weave back, padded armrests and black powder coated steel legs. It works as a standalone accent chair in a bedroom or hallway and as a statement chair at the dining table. To complete a cosy corner, add a soft layer from our throws collection, or pair your chair with a bench at the foot of the bed.
A guide to our accent chairs
Choosing the right accent chair
Think about how you will use the chair. For a reading corner or living room, the Willow offers the deepest, most enveloping seat, at 86cm wide with a seat height of 43cm. In a smaller room, the Lada is more compact at 63cm wide, and its storage footrest adds a second use. The Iris, at 62cm wide with a 48cm seat height, sits a little higher, which suits a desk, dressing table or dining table. Check the dimensions on each product page against your space, and allow room to slide the Lada footrest out fully.
Caring for chenille and velvet
Chenille has a soft, looped texture that feels warm and hard-wearing for everyday seating. Vacuum it gently with a soft brush attachment to lift dust from the weave, and blot spills quickly rather than rubbing. Velvet, as on the Iris, has a short pile that can show light marks where it has been sat on; brushing it lightly in one direction restores an even finish. Keep both fabrics out of strong, direct sunlight to protect the colour, and plump the cushions regularly so they keep their shape.
