A guide to our bar stools

Bar stool or counter stool?

Measure from the floor to the underside of your worktop before you choose. A comfortable gap between seat and counter leaves room for your legs without leaving you perched too low. The Mia counter stools sit at 65cm, the Stella at 66cm, the Azure at 67cm, the Maria and Kai at 68cm, and the Cassie and Nora at 70cm. Lower seats in this range suit standard kitchen islands, while the slightly taller designs work well at raised breakfast bars and high tables. Each product page lists full width, depth and height.

Velvet, chenille, linen or bouclé?

Velvet gives a smooth, soft surface with a gentle sheen and suits glamorous or classic kitchens. Chenille has a deeper, more tactile texture that feels warm and relaxed, and it comes in both cream and black here. Ivory linen, as on the Elle, has a crisp, natural look that pairs well with pale worktops and oak tones. Pressed bouclé on the Cassie adds a looped texture for a modern, minimal space. If your stools will see daily family use, darker shades such as black chenille or black velvet are the most forgiving choice.

Footrests, backs and swivel seats

Think about how long people will sit. The Maria, Amari and Kai have a built-in footrest for extra comfort at the island, while the Kai also adds armrests. Curved, wrap-around backs on the Celine, Elle, Camilla and Maria give a supportive, enclosed feel. The Amari is the swivel bar stool in the range, with a 180 degree turn and a reset function that keeps a row of stools neat. The Mia stands on a semi-circular base and the Camilla on a cantilevered frame, both of which look clean from behind at an open-plan island.

Delivery and returns

In-stock bar stools are dispatched within 24 hours and usually arrive in 2 to 3 days on the UK mainland. Bar stools are one of the categories we can deliver to Northern Ireland. A stool order under £100 carries a £5 delivery fee, rising to £20 once your basket passes £100. Highland and Island postcodes are outside our delivery area for now. You can return or exchange within 30 days of delivery in the original packaging, and all non made-to-order items carry a one year manufacturer's guarantee.
