A guide to our dining chairs
Velvet, chenille, linen or bouclé?
Velvet has a soft, smooth handle and a light sheen that reads as classic luxury, especially in cream or grey. Chenille is more textured and relaxed, a good choice for a lived-in family dining room. Linen, used on the Alba, Kenso, Kiah, Elle and Castelle, gives a crisp, natural look that suits walnut and oak. Bouclé adds a looped, modern texture. For the easiest care, the black faux leather Axel and Jade chairs can be wiped clean, which makes them practical around young children.
How to choose the right size
Most chairs in this collection have a seat height between 45cm and 50cm, which suits a standard dining table. Check the chair width on the product page against your table length, and allow space between each chair so guests can sit and stand easily. Curved chairs such as the Lucia, Liang and Iris are a little wider for a more generous seat, while slimmer designs such as the Rhea and Kiah fit more places around a smaller round table. Full width, depth and height are listed for every chair.
Mixing frames and finishes
Frame colour sets the tone. Matte black legs are the most versatile and suit almost any table top. Brushed gold, as on the Rhea, Mia, Azure, Jade, Axel and Levi, adds warmth and works beautifully with white or cream ceramic. Brushed bronze on the Daphne, Celeste and Stella gives a softer metallic glow. Walnut and oak effect frames bring natural texture to a neutral room. For a cohesive look, repeat the frame finish in your table base, lighting or mirror.
